Franchise Ranking: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

A comic from 1984 turned into a worldwide hit. It’s a franchise that is still going today! Since these films were very close to my heart, I’m going to rank the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films….Only theatrical films, so Turtles Forever does not count.

05.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III- A film about the turtles going back in time to ancient Japan. It’s notable for not having recognizable TMNT villains and a cheaper budget. It’s a movie that I could never stand. At the video store, it was always in while my favorite was not and it always came on TV.

04.) TMNT (2007)- In 2007, they decided to not make another live action turtles movie and opted towards animation. It’s a movie where the turtles reunite to stop ancient creatures. It may not be the best, but I have enjoyed it on recent watches. I like the winks to the other films in the franchise.

03.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)- Megan Fox is April O’ Neill and she’s investigating the recent uprising of the foot clan. Meanwhile, the turtles fight the crime. It was panned even before it came out. I really enjoyed it. One of my favorite moment is when the turtles were in the elevator freestyling rap, it was such a turtle moment. Shredder was okay, but didn’t have much screen time.

02.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie- The turtles first film has them going against the foot and their evil leader, Shredder. It’s without a doubt the best turtles movie. It blended seriousness from the comics and comedy from the animated show. It’s a great film.

01.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze- One of my absolute favorites as a kid is still my favorite. It’s epic in every way.Tokka and Rahzar are awesome and Super-Shredder is great. It’s the perfect 90’s movie with one of the greatest openings ever.
