Directed by J.J. Abrams
Starring Harrison Ford and Daisy Ridley
Plot: Many years after the Empire has fallen, there is a new terror in the galaxy far, far away called “The First Order” led by the evil Kylo Ren. He’s on the search for a map with the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker. It’s sent with a droid who comes across Rey (Ridley). She teams with a member of the First Order who deserted his position. They meet Han Solo (Ford) and Chewbacca who takes them to the resistance. The First Order has a weapon that is ten times larger than the Death Star, so that causes some troubles.
Review: Welcome back, Star Wars! While I’ve been anticipating this film for a long time now, I can say that this was a good one. It was a nostalgia trip and I felt like a little kid watching it. There are a few minor things that irked me. One of them being Kylo Ren, he was awesome and everything when he was wearing the mask, but I think he loses his mystique when he takes the mask off. There were some secrets that were revealed that would’ve been better explained in a sequel. Overall, I believe that Abrams did a very good job with this. The creatures were okay and there were plenty of funny moments. A lot of awe inspiring shots too. I would probably say a lot more about it, but I feel like with repeat viewings I’d like it a little more. Still good though.
