Review: I loved it! A theatrical horror film that was good from beginning to end. I thought those didn’t exist. The film is rated PG-13, which didn’t hurt it for me. I understand it’s gateway horror, a film that families can watch together much like Gremlins did. The film has a strong cast. The scares were effective. I loved the setting and mood. Michael Dougherty has a pretty track record with this and Trick ‘r Treat.
