Review: Back in 2009, Reynolds played the character for the first time in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and it was much maligned. Years went by and people wanted a Deadpool movie. Then. the test footage came out and everyone rejoiced. So we finally got the Deadpool movie. I’m not too familar with the character, I am aware of him and his origins. They really changed his origins, which didn’t take away anything.

Reynolds did a good job at bringing the Merc with a Mouth to life. He was born to play the character and it’s nice to see him poke fun at his past ala X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern. Deadpool also pokes fun at the fact that the budget was obviously cut. The films other characters were really good. Colossus was closer to the one I remember from the X-Men cartoon from the 90s.

I can’t really remember the last time I laughed for a comedy at the theater. But, this was one funny movie. As I said, Reynolds was born to play the character and hell the costume is so amazing. Probably one of the best superhero film costumes out there.  Also, all the little nods to other superhero films will give you a chuckle! …..and the opening credits were truly amazing as well.
