Directed by Lee Sholem
Starring George Reeves and Phyllis Coates
Plot: Clark Kent and Lois Lane travel to a midwestern town to report on the world’s deepest oil well. Small creatures come out and frighten the town who decide to form a mob to kill the creatures. So, Kent turns into Superman to stop the folks from doing anything dastardly.
Review: At a short running time of 58 minutes, you can’t really expect anything life changing. George Reeves is the best character on the film. Any moment he’s not there, it loses steam. The Mole-Men are laughable, but you begin to feel sorry when people are chasing them. The film basically calls out humans for clinging to fears. It feels like a typical monster movie with the mobs and stuff. If you’re a huge fan of Superman, you should watch this history making film, it’s Superman first feature film.
