Hush (2016) Review

Directed by Mike Flanagan

Starring Kate Siegel and John Gallagher Jr.

Plot: A deaf author named Maddie (Siegel) lives alone. She’s occcasionally visited by a friend or two. But one night, she has an uninvited guest. A psychopath (Gallagher) who plays with Maddie for a bit and takes advantage of her disability. Maddie is strong though, she decides to fight back.

Review: I thought it was a pretty good home invasion flick. I believe home invasion is a very scary subject and it’s been done well in The Strangers and You’re Next. ┬áThere are many suspenseful moments in this and it’s well acted. You’ll be on the edge of your seat for this one. Siegel played the character good. She wasn’t a helpless person, she was a strong character that wanted to fight to the death. This is from the director of Oculus, a film that didn’t really care about. This one makes up for it! So, check it out if you have Netflix.
