Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) Review

It’s been a long time. I’m glad to be back…

Directed by James Gunn

Starring Chris Pratt and Kurt Russell

Synopsis: After saving the galaxy from Ronan the Accuser, the Guardians are hard at work from saving some pretentious golden aliens. After making the mistake of stealing some priceless batteries, Rocket, Star-Lord, Drax, Baby Groot and Gamora are saved from the forces of Sovereign race by a bearded man who looks like Snake Plissken.

This happens to be Peter “Star-Lord” Quill’s father. His name is Ego (Kurt Russell). He happens to be a celestial being who is actually a planet. He has big plans for Star- Lord.

Review: Back in 2014, the first Guardians film was released. It was well, a pretty fun and different film for our pals over at Marvel Studios. While, I didn’t care about it like everyone else did, I still really enjoyed it. This film is just as fun. You know, this film is very much like Marvel’s last film, Doctor Strange. It was visually beautiful. The film didn’t build too much on the characters, but overall they were good already.

The jokes were actually funny. There were some David Hasselhoff things that I didn’t care for. But, other than that, the humor hit the mark more than Doctor Strange.

Great flick though, but very lacking in the world building. Nothing on here really set up the guardians next appearance. Oh well.
