Thoughts: Batman v Superman (Spoilers)

Well, this weekend sees the return of Superman and for the first time in this universe, Batman. We’ve been waiting for this film for three years. We see Ben Affleck step into the role of the Caped Crusader. I’ve been anticipating this one since that comic con footage was released of Batman turning on the bat signal. I caught a screening earlier and decided to think about this a bit before writing something. So, if you haven’t seen it, don’t read on. I thought the film was okay for this universe. It started off like I expected with the death … Continue reading Thoughts: Batman v Superman (Spoilers)

The Dark Knight Rises (2012) Review

Directed by Christopher Nolan Starring Christian Bale and Tom Hardy Plot: Batman (Bale) has since retired the cowl and cape. Years pass and there is once again a new threat. Bane (Hardy) has weaponized a energy bomb thing. He fights Batman and hurts him. The city of Gotham must fight back! Review: The film had to follow up to one of the best superhero films out there. I think it did really good. Tom Hardy is really good as Bane. The film has a pretty good conclusion and I can say that I honestly enjoyed it. Continue reading The Dark Knight Rises (2012) Review

The Dark Knight (2008) Review

Directed by Christopher Nolan Starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger Plot: A new villain comes to Gotham and his name is The Joker (Ledger). He’s just a man that loves his chaos. He’s hired by the local mob bosses to kill Batman. Batman must endure what comes to next! Review: This is one great movie! I believe everyone thinks that. Ledger’s performance really steals the show, there’s no question about that. He was legendary as the Joker. But, that’s kinda it. I’m not trying to knock it. It’s a great movie. Batman is basically a side character. Anyway, it’s a … Continue reading The Dark Knight (2008) Review

Batman Begins (2005) Review

Directed by¬†Christopher Nolan Starring Christian Bale and Gary Oldman Plot: Bruce Wayne (Bale) has been saddened his entire life by his parents murder. He decides to flee his billionaire lifestyle to learn the inner workings of the criminal. He meets a man who trains him to be a ninja. Wayne returns to his hometown of Gotham where takes up the identity of Batman, to stop crime, once and for all! Review: I’ve warmed up to this one. I use to despise it. But, it’s among one of the best out there! Bale gives a great performance and this is the … Continue reading Batman Begins (2005) Review

Batman Forever (1995) Review

Directed by Joel Schumacher Starring Val Kilmer and Jim Carrey Plot: Bruce Wayne (Kilmer) moonlights as Batman in Gotham, he has a huge fan named Edward Nigma (Carrey) whom he upsets. This drives Nigma insane and he turns into the Riddler and teams with Two Face. Nigma has an invention that steals peoples brainwaves and Nigma finds out Wayne’s biggest secret….he’s not Michael Keaton! Review: I admit that I really like this one. I liked Kilmer’s Batman. Jim Carrey did a very good job at playing himself, or should I say the Riddler. Tommy Lee Jones was nothing more than … Continue reading Batman Forever (1995) Review

Batman Returns (1992) Review

Directed by Tim Burton Starring Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito Plot: The Penguin (DeVito) comes from the sewers of Gotham, he’s wanting to find his birth parents. Batman (Keaton) is wary about this and decides to look into it. Also, Catwoman comes in and falls in love with Batman. Review: It’s more Tim Burton-y than the first. It’s nice that Keaton came back for another go around. Michelle Pfeiffer was really good as Catwoman while DeVito wasn’t really good as The Penguin. He gave it the best shot he could though. It’s not my favorite Batman. Continue reading Batman Returns (1992) Review
